We are thrilled to host a second screening of this movie from the loveable teacher Ram Dass, who impacted a whole generation with his seminal book Be Here Now. His journey informed us and supported us to honor the role that love and devotion play in the path of Yoga. His steady journey of practice and depth of inquiry, along with his sense of humor and playful affection for our strengths and weaknesses, made his teachings utterly approachable. Ram Dass unfailingly pointed us to the joy underlying the rigors of inner work and made us want more!

"Becoming Nobody” was Ram Dass' last documentary prior to his passing on Dec 22, 2019. His inspiring voice translates the depth of Yogic wisdom into our Western culture. As he says clearly: "The spiritual journey is a different path than what you thought you were on. It’s very hard to make the transition to that path because we tend to take the power from the spiritual work we do to make our lives “nice” – but that’s not what the path offers. The path offers freedom, but freedom demands complete surrender to your true nature."

Beloved Ones

Baba Ram Das passed on Dec 22, he was a great and generous teacher who gave and gave and gave. He shared his Sadhana and the highs and lows of the journey with a whole generation and rocked the counter-culture world in 1969 with his book “BE HERE NOW" after meeting his teacher Neem Karoli Baba. I can hear his voice from way back telling the sincere and earnest tie-dyed crowd around him “Relax, you’re being taken through.”
 
This is what he always offered, a path that, although rigorous, was loving and kind to oneself and filled with compassion for all.  

He loved unconditionally. In Vermont, when he shared workshop time with Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche, I recall being permeated with an air of deep conviction around him that indeed one must go beyond all convention for the sake of the evolutionary journey.

WYC movie night, Dec 8, featured him in the documentary "Becoming Nobody”. His smile was incandescent in the last interviews. He quoted a line he clearly relished:  “Death is like taking off a tight shoe”

May this passage he is making to the other side be full of that lightness, expansion and ease.
