Open Level
For students of all levels. These multi-level classes allow you to work at your own frontier. As in all WYC classes, students receive individualized attention. -
Gentle
This class pays special attention to the Anusara Universal Principles of Alignment and how we experience them in our bodies and in basic yoga poses. It is appropriate for those new to yoga and for those wishing to refine and review the building blocks of an Anusara yoga practice. -
Level 1
For brand-new beginners as well as students who have been practicing for some time. These classes offer fundamental training in the postures as well as relaxation, breathing and meditation techniques. -
Level 2
For our students familiar with the basic principles of alignment who wish to deepen and advance their asana practice. -
Asana & Meditation
Evening is an optimal time of the day to loosen accumulated tensions and center our attention back into our own being- to bring ourselves into contentment. This evening asana class includes some active poses to warm the body, followed by grounding, stabilizing poses that stretch and open the body and free the breath. The last asanas are cooling poses to calm and clear the mind, to seamlessly enter into an extended meditation to end each class. All levels are welcome to this delightful evening practice. -
Gentle with Restoratives
A gentle Anusara-inspired class, infused with the wisdom and joy of Tantra, that includes a half hour of rejuvenating Restorative poses. We use the Anusara principles to come into alignment and a variety of techniques to turn inside. This is an excellent class for newcomers and those with therapeutic issues as well as for Yoga practitioners who wish to relax and restore their bodies while cultivating the energies of mindfulness and meditation. -
Monday Meditation
This 75 minute meditation class is a beautiful way for both new students to enter the practice and experienced students to increase their inner energy and insight. The class includes discussion of wisdom teachings, the use of mantras and chants, a deep meditation and sharing of experiences. All students are welcome. There is guided instruction and exploration of how to apply the teachings to our daily lives. This class, known as the “double header,” is discounted for students of the 6:15 pm asana practice right before. -
Community Class (by donation)
Our community classes are taught by recent graduates of the World Yoga Center 200 hour Teacher Training program. The community class is donation-based and gives the World Yoga Center a way to give back to students in our community with financial limitations and to give our wonderful warm-hearted graduates a way to contribute their fresh inspiration, enthusiasm and teaching talent to the school that has nourished them. Class is open to all levels. Our grads invite you to bring an open mind and a playful heart knowing life is lighter when we journey together.Suggested donation: $10
