All classes are taught by teachers trained in Anusara Yoga. We offer classes online and in person.

Class Descriptions
The World Yoga Center offers classes for students of all levels and abilities.
If you have questions about whether you're ready for a specific level, please contact us or ask your instructor next time you're in the studio.
Open Level
For students of all levels. These multi-level classes allow you to work at your own frontier. As in all WYC classes, students receive individualized attention.
Level 1
For brand-new beginners as well as students who have been practicing for some time. These classes offer fundamental training in the postures as well as relaxation, breathing and meditation techniques.
Level 1/Gentle
For students new to yoga and for those wishing to refine and review the building blocks of their practice. A gentle class that focuses on basic yoga poses.
Level 1/2
For students who have been practicing for some time and for our students familiar with the basic principles of alignment who wish to deepen and advance their asana practice. All WYC classes offer relaxation, breathing and meditation techniques.
Level 2/3
For students with a well established steady practice, able to safely challenge their body with more advanced poses. These classes include practical and enjoyable modifications of all asanas, while build the advanced asanas in an uplifting climate of exploration and possibility..
Restorative
For newcomers and those with therapeutic issues as well as any student who wishes to relax and restore their bodies while cultivating the energies of mindfulness and meditation. A gentle class that focuses on rejuvenating restorative poses. We use the Anusara principles to come into alignment and a variety of techniques to turn inside.
Evening Asana
For students of all levels. This evening practice reclaims the depth of our authentic Self, and includes yoga postures, breathing techniques and meditation. Using the Universal Principles of Alignment, we will make a smooth transition from the day to the rest of the evening, bringing us towards a peaceful sleep.
Meditation
Meditation Classes
Meditation lies at the core of yoga and supports us to create a meaningful life. Seen as our natural birthright, meditation reduces suffering and is a significant means to inner freedom and well-being. All our hatha yoga classes and programs include this transformative practice.
Monday Meditation
Mondays 8-9:30pm – online only
This 75 minute online class is a beautiful way for new students to enter the practice of meditation and also provides energy and insight for our experienced meditators. The class includes teachings, the use of mantras and chants, a deep meditation and time to process and integrate our experiences. All students are welcome. There is guided instruction and exploration of how to apply the teachings to our daily lives.
Daily Morning Meditations
8:15am every day, hosted by our WYC teachers.
We offer daily online classes of breathwork and meditation practices, guided by our beautiful WYC teachers. These classes are offered with love at no cost.

Take the 1, 2, 3 train to Broadway and 72nd Street and walk one block west towards the Hudson river.
