Religion versus Spirituality: a Can of Worms

Thursday June 28, 7-9:30pm

‘Satsang is very precious to me. I treasure the meditations…’ ~WYC Student

"Religion versus Spirituality: a Can of Worms"

The theme of religion and spirituality arose in our past Satsang while exploring the generational stream in the light of Yoga teachings. There is always a wide spectrum of experience of the impact of the religious traditions, observances and rituals -present or absent- in our childhood. It is important to us as practitioners, that our practices be “live”— alive with Consciousness. The great sages of Yoga have handed down much wisdom on this subject over the millennia. As yoga students, some of us make a strong distinction between spiritual transformation and the traditional background of our family of origin. Some wonder about including their bond with a religious tradition as they evolve on the path of awakenment and some wonder about how to stay harmonious with family members if they break with tradition. We tend to have strong opinions about our inner evolution and the role of religion. Come join the conversation and let's explore this together.

The group chose this theme in our last Satsang. Come join us and enjoy our shared learning as we all continue to grow together.
