Surrender: The Bird on the Top Branch

Thursday July 20, 7-9:30pm

‘Satsang is very precious to me. I treasure the meditations…’ ~WYC Student

"Surrender: The Bird on the Top Branch"

Surrender is not a word for which Westerners have a natural affinity although it lies at the heart of the Path of Yoga. The small self surrenders to the Great Self like a sugar cube dissolves in the hot water so that the small self seemingly  disappears. This movement of expansive dissolution within ourselves is the fruit of steady practice and non-attachment and is the true meaning of surrender in yoga scriptures. Surrender is experienced as deeply blissful. As we melt the hard edges of our worldly  persona and let go into something large, beyond time and space, we continue to live our lives. Yet how then do we perform our daily duties, manage our relationships, work and family life, while engaged in blissful dissolution of the ego?!

If we disappear into the boundless Self within, who will pay the bills?! Let's play with this question on a warm Summer night in July and enjoy our last Satsang evening together before the Summertime Satsang break. We will resume in September. Bring your friends and family as it is for us all to enjoy together.

The group chose this theme in our last Satsang. Come join us and enjoy our shared learning as we all continue to grow together.
